I don’t know about you, but I have trouble reaching things with my short little Lambie arms. I decided to create this cute stick to help me turn the garbage disposer switch on and to move items from the back to the front of high cabinet shelves. This fun craft only took about an hour, from start to finish!
I would love to see what kit you use, to create your own 'kithen aide'

Turn an ordinary paint stirrer into a useful tool:
Tools I used:
paint stirring stick
sandpaper block
2 binder clips
acrylic paint
1" foam paint brush
Krylon Matte Finish (1311)
Mod Podge
Note: If you want to hang your stick up, drill a hole near the top of the stick.
Step 1: Create your design. Measurements I used: 12" x 1.147")
Step 2: Rotate your finish design 36º, so you can print it on 8.5"x11" paper.
Step 3: Print your design twice (for front and back of stick).
Step 4: Cut out & seal your design, so the ink doesn't run. I used Krylon Matte Finish (1311) Let it dry.
Step 5: Sandpaper edges of stick, if you want a 'worn' look.
Step 6: Use binder clips to temporarily attach design to stick on both sides.
Step 7: Sandpaper design papers to fit stick. Move binder clips, as needed. Be careful not to rip paper. I wanted a 'worn' look, so I was was not very gentle.
Step 8: Remove binder clips and design papers.
Step 9: Paint edges of stick, using coordinating colors. Use you design as a guide, if you are using more than one color paint. Allow paint to dry.
Step 10: Brush one side of stick with Mod Podge.
Step 11: While Mod Podge is still wet, apply design to stick.
Step 12: Brush the Mod Podge over design. Allow to dry.
Step 13: Repeat Steps 10-12 on other side of stick.
Step 13: Lightly sandpaper edges, if desired, to create a 'worn' look.
Step 14: Apply a couple more coats of Mod Podge to seal. Allow to dry.
Step 15: Add ribbon & enjoy!
