Getting to Know…Stacey Thomas

A dear friend and member at Aimee Asher, I first “met” Stacey on the PCCrafter message board many years ago.  She always had sweet things to say about my artwork and awesome creations of her own.   We have worked together on many projects, shared many laughs and many tears together.  She is very creative and talented not only in arts and crafts, but in the kitchen as well!  Stacey is an awesome mom and one of my dearest friends!

Many of you know her as “Miss Stacey” and treasure her, too!  So I “sat down” with Stacey to peek inside the crafty side of her busy life.

How would you describe your “craft style”?

Eclectic.  I am influenced by many things, but I tend to lean toward a mixture of traditional and Bohemian designs in my crafts.

What are your favorite colors?
Brown, pink and purple–all shades and hues.
What is your favorite craft project?
Anything with paper!  I also love cross stitching and have been doing it for 24 years now.
What 3 craft supplies can you NOT live without?
My Silhouette, wireless laser printer and Ott light.
How did you learn your “crafts”?
I am a self taught Adobe Photoshop user (CS4); when it comes to stitching, I’ve taught myself and taken advanced technique classes. Editor’s note:  Stacey taught me all about Photoshop!)
Who are your favorite artists or designers?
Dan Morris and Tammy DeYoung, Shelley Comiskey, Laurie Furnell
What is it about their art or designs that make you happy?
Dan has an extensive catalog that is just breath-taking.  Tammy has lots of fun art for boys, which is a must for me.  Shelley’s style is so adorable, and Laurie has fabulous seasonal art.
Do you blog or have a Facebook Fan page?  May we visit?
have a blog—http://www.thisjustinblog.com You are always welcome! I post a variety of things there, and have some recipes you might enjoy trying. I have a fan page for This Just In Blog on Facebook, and can be found on Twitter (staceythomastji) as well.
What are your other favorite hobbies or interests?
I love to bake, home can, cook and read.

Who or what has been the greatest influence in your life?

I would say my parents and my Grandma Anderson.  I get so much of my craftiness and abilities from my folks…I get my quirkiness from my grandma.

What are your other favorite hobbies or interests?
I love to bake, home can, cook and read.
What is the one blog you MUST visit everyday for the “latest and greatest?”
LOL it’s not a crafting blog!  I visit everyday without fail Lemonade Makin’ MamaOutside My Kitchen Window and The Pioneer Woman

Will you give us one super-duper awesome crafting tip

If you can afford to purchase a Silhouette cutting machine, do it.  It will be one of the best investments you ever make.

Thank you so much Stacey!

Stacey is as real as they come! A fantastic mother, cook and friend. I went to school with her and you couldn’t find a better person if you tried.
